Our commitment to the community

We strive to make a positive impact wherever we can. We embrace our responsibilities towards the local community and there are a number of ways in which we support and engage with people and organisations nearby.

Supporting the local economy

The development of the Protos Energy Recovery Facility will bring a range of local community, employment, infrastructure and environmental benefits to the local area and the wider North West region.

We anticipate the creation of around 300 jobs during the construction of the facility, which will have a positive impact on the local economy.

There is a commitment to purchase goods and services from local companies wherever possible.

During the construction phase, information about construction jobs and supply chain opportunities is available from the website of the EPC contractors, Mytilineos and Standardkessel Baumgarte.

Protos Community Forum

During the construction phase, the project partners are engaging with the Protos Community Forum. This provides an opportunity for interested members of the community to find out more about the project and to ensure information is shared with other neighbours.
